The Reverse Pull Headgear

When a skeletal underbite(Figure 1) is diagnosed at an early age, a Reverse Pull Headgear(RPHG) (Figure 2) can be used to advance the upper jaw orthopedically.  Because the window of opportunity for this type of correction is very narrow, it is important to diagnose and treat this type of malocclusion at an early age.  A good age to begin treatment with a RPHG is age 8.
